Just thought I would chime in with an update on the progress of the Florida S.C.R.U.B. Club. We have created our preliminary database of dive boats ranging from Martin, Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe Counties. It is by no means complete, and we will not really have top quality information with which to work until we have dived more of the boats as time passes. It is still a work in progress, but we have definitely started, and we have a list of at least 30 or more boats from which to start.

Our members continue to build. More divers are

. So, we are gathering new people to the group all the time. This weekend, we will be three or four CCR divers on the boat. (This will be a private boat. So, there will only be about five or six people aboard in total. We are a clear majority and gaining!

) Over the next 60 to 90 days or so, at least two more will receive their units and complete training. We see at least one more coming aboard by the middle of the Summer.

Everybody is getting to know one another, and we are becoming a more effective team as we learn to work together underwater. Technical diving will not be far off.

With just a few more divers, we will begin to fill the charter boats with CCR, and call the plan. Do join us if you are in South Florida.

Usually, we have something set up for every weekend. I've had a few projects lately, but we are starting to scramble to see about doing something this weekend. (Normally, we have the idea set before now.) Hopefully, we will know something soon.
