Hi Eric,

Just to give you an update, Ken is putting the finishing touches on your new Optima as we speak.

And (again), yes, we will apply the discount from your Meg trade-in to a special pair of the little wrist unit booties to protect your "precious new jewel" as you so repeatedly refer to the new rig.

We've got the t-shirt you asked for here too, the one that says "I Dive a Rig Named After a Fish that ISN'T Extinct"

Was there anything else you needed to go with your order?

All the best,

(Blame this one on the flu-bug I'm fighting right now!)

Sweet,

Ken is going to give me a new Optima? Can I trade it back in on a HH?

I think a Meg and a HH would make good companions. Kind of like the old UDT guy having a beer with the SEAL. New and improved, but based on the same brick and mortor.

If Ken wants to ship me the free Optima, I'll make sure it gets a good home as a spare for my Optima diving buddies. They can utilize the disposeable parts like the plastic backplate, the fadeable CL's, etc...

I know what a Megalodon is, but what the hell is a O2ptima?

....well, at least you didn't call the HH bit the "disposable part"....

It shows your true Megalodon credentials are beginning to crack!

All the best,

Kevin.

Re: Mem is not buying a new Optima

To further dispell the myth that Mem is buying an Optima, my friend, Prince, has written a little song he likes to call, "When Pigs Fly!"

When Pigs Fly

Dig if you will this picture
Of Optima diver envious of a Meg
The sweat of my nervousness covers me
Why did I buy this Optima?
Can you picture this?

Dream if you will a junkyard
An ocean of counterlungs in fade
Optima divers strike curious poses
They feel the heat
The heat between the credit card melting EAC and you

How could the Meg diver just leave me standing?
Alone in a world that's so cold? (So cold)
Maybe I just need to keep up and follow
Maybe I'm… No really, why is it soooooo… so ****ing cold?
Maybe I’m just like my mother
She's a whiner and never satisfied (She's never satisfied)
Why don’t we team with each other?
So that is what it sounds like
When pigs fly

Don’t touch if you will my backplate
Feel how it trembles inside
I’ve got the rig all tied up
Don Six, don't make me break out the Chase VISA
Even Optima divers have some pride

When pigs fly
When pigs fly (Pigs fly, Pigs flyyyyyy)
When pigs fly (Pigs fly, Pigs flyyyyyyyyyy)

Don't fly (Don't fly)

When pigs fly
When pigs fly
When pigs fly

I found an old Websters Dictionary lying around and I looked up the definition of "O2ptima" and this is what I found:

op-ti-ma (ŏp'te-ma):

-noun

1. An underwater breathing device ("electronic closed-circuit rebreather") designed by a well known diving equipment manufacturer to provide the best or most favorable design features.

2. An electronic closed circuit rebreather ("rebreather") providing a compact and streamlined body design.

3. A rebreather which enables the convenient, quick and simple dust-free packing of it's CO2 absorbant scrubber.

4. A rebreather which is generally the sub-conscious envy of pilots utilizing other rebreathers named after extinct marine species.

5. A rebreather not manufactured with standard non-original black color patterns.

6. A rebreather which maintains its power cells in an arid and easily accessible enviroment.
7. A rebreather which envokes a feeling of

I think you forgot these two....

9. A rebreather which fails so often underwater, a team needs to predetermine an appropriate hand signal for sed planned failure....

Kevin,

This is rig-bashing the SCRUBS way! We all know each other pretty well. It's all just harmless fun amongst friends. Kind of like asking the guy in front of you before he jumps out the waist door who packed his chute cuz it ain't lookin so good.
