Re: Upcoming Trip (Revised): Upper Florida Keys 4/18 - 4/20/2008

Do we have a final list of dives and attendees? I am already booked on a trip for Saturday afternoon out of Miami. Want to see about meeting up with everyone somehow. I might (not sure) be able to make a Friday dive depending upon circumstances. Maybe we can meet up in Miami on your way into or out of the Keys?

I know for sure that we have Saturday Afternoon to the Spiegel Grove & Sunday Afternoon to the Eagle. There are four of us that I know of at this point. Myself, John, Adrian, & Steve. I believe John & Adrian will also be diving something Friday, along with myself.

If anyone else has booked or will be booking through Conch Republic, please post so we know what's up.

I'm heading down to Stuart, FL Sunday April 13th and on the the Keys Monday. I'll be diving there all week & weekend & also the following week.

So I expect you all to use your influence and calm the winds & seas before I get there!

Thanks,

Richie

Re: Upcoming Trip (Revised): Upper Florida Keys 4/18 - 4/20/2008

I will be in the area that weekend diving my Hammerhead. Though I will be with an open circuit buddy I may join up with some other Rebreather divers for an extended profile if possible. My buddy will be doing normal OC profiles.
I dont want to neglect my friend, so I will have to wait and see when we get there.
We are planning to dive the Duane and SG, and maybe the Eagle. Perhaps if it okay we can setup a Rebreather only trip to the Bibb.

FYI, the afternoon double dip dives on the SG & Eagle just means the boat will stay at the wrecks for the afternoon. You can do a long dive while your buddy does two shorter ones or you could both do two shorter dives.... It's your option.

I am headed up to Cave Country for a few days (Wednesday and Thursday). If I get back in time, I will try to make the Friday afternoon dive.

Re: Upcoming Trip (Revised): Upper Florida Keys 4/18 - 4/20/2008

As an FYI I just spoke with Capt. Gary at Conch Republic and he's adding a night dive on Saturday April 19th to the Duane for those of you who may be interested.

Boat will leave around 6:45 PM and be back around 9:30 PM. It's a one shot dive, meaning no second dive.

It will also be dependent on the seas & currents. If it's really rough or the current is ripping they won't do that dive, but could be talked into a calmer dive if the boat wants to do something like that.

There will be a mix of CCR & OC on the dive.

Richie, I received a message from Jeff on Scubaboard about a week ago regarding the Saturday night dive. I think they were the ones that presented Gary with the idea of setting it up and they were contacting me to see if we wanted to join them. I hadn't responded to them yet, because I just got around yesterday to discussing it with John. John and I were considering it, because we thought it might me a nice dive to do some underwater photagraphy. We ultimately agreed to talk about it some more in the coming days.

If you are interested in doing the dive, I might be swayed to do it. If the dive is scheduled to go for sure, then we can probably hold off on making the decision today and play it by ear at the time.

Are you in for sure or are you still considering it?

Adrian

After diving those dark nasty holes in the ground up in Nothern Florida, I'd think the beautiful Florida Keys would be a breath of fresh air for you!(1)

You have no excuse, because Miami Beach is just a skip and a hop away!(2)

Seriously, what kind of a Florida S.C.R.U.B.'s trip would it be, without our Grand Pubah being there!(3)

(1) This comment is in no way intended to insult the fantastic cave diving in Northern Florida, instead, is only intended to incorporate creative and exagerative comparison language in order to entice our buddy Howard to join us in the Keys!
(2) For those of you who may not know, Howard (lucky bastard) lives in beautiful Miami Beach, where all the super models wear no bras and sun bathe topless on the beach.
(3) Howard is the creator and moderator of the Rebreather World Florida S.C.R.U.B.'s, therefore he has been rightfully dubbed our "Grand Pubah," just like Fred on the Flinstones!

Adrian,

I'll decide when we're down there.... Depending on conditions & if we end up doing morning dives as well. They say it's a cool dive if conditions are right.
