This is what I assumed we were talking about with Scubatyme, as well - laying siege to the whole boat, if you will. If they already have OC spots booked and/or we'd be restricted in some way then I'd say they're not in the running. If we are more than six, then it's quite possible that we can do an exclusive Rebreather-only charter with Scubatyme.

| Going Down? ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: 11/30 and weekend of dive show diving I'm bringing my full kit with regs, etc. so I was just planning on renting tanks (AL13s for O2/dil and a 30 or 40 bailout) and buying EACs; but a certain generous soul has already offered to lend me a set of 13s. I'm also going to hit Reef Photo for a few things - I talked to Ryan. Thanks for the hook up on that, Rob. I can lend you an AL40 bailout bottle if needed. I can just give it to sfldiver before the dive. Let me know what mix you want (right now it is EANX 32.5%)

If they already have OC spots booked and/or we'd be restricted in some way then I'd say they're not in the running. One other consideration is the cost. Miss conduct charges $60 for a 2-tank dive and $80 for a 3-tank dive, but the entire boat would be ours for sure. Scubatyme is a much larger boat, so I'm not sure what he would charge us if we took up his boat for the whole day and only had 6 divers, but I suspect it would be more expensive. Plus, as it stands, we are only 5 divers, because Howard only has a 50%...51%...52% probability of attending at this point.I can give Enzo a call tomorrow and see what he says, but as it stands, it appears that Miss Conduct is our best option, unless out numbers change or unless Enzo surprises me.

The SCRUBs are some right generous folk! 32.5% is 1.6 at 130', so unless our plan changes between now and then, the mix should be fine as it is.If I keep playing my cards right, I won't have to bring much of anything ... anyone have an extra Optima, wetsuit, fins, camera and some clothes laying around?? [kidding]

If we are more than six, then it's quite possible that we can do an exclusive Rebreather-only charter with Scubatyme. Note that I've been talking to Scubatyme about doing some Friday afternoon lite tech diving that caters to CCR's, at ordinary ow rates. If you happened find yourself on ScubaTyme, be sure to let them know what you think about that idea of a large capacity vessel that caters to rebreather divers and does tech at OW rates... |
