You are correct John, the Lady-Go-Diver, like most boats, usually sticks to OC bottom times. The only alternative with most boats is to get enough divers to hire the entire boat, which is doable, especially if we plan a dive that is out of the norm and we post it early enough.

Scubatyme is a good alternative, because the boat is not too big and they can be quite accomidating.
When you become a regular (on any charter) there is flexibility afforded to you; within reason.... And show a little respect for the Captain and the rest of the divers...

Yesterday afternoon, the Guy Harvey (~145')... I was the first to splash on OC w/ two meg's rounding out the buddy team. We planned and executed a 45 min dive. There were probably a handfull of other OC divers coming up after me over the next 5-10 minutes.

We then had to wait another 10-15 in progressivly rolling seas for an azimuth who's buddy had bolted. One of the DM's was sent to freedive to check up on him as two roll calls had passed.

You wanna dive at recreational rates or mixed boats, keep your runtimes in check... Plan to 45mins w/ 60min as contingency and you should have no problems. I've been doing it the last 2 years w/o problem doing light OC deco.

You wanna do 3.5 hours, charter the boat. It's not too hard; Avid Diver only needs three to run.

I'll be running the Kiss booth and also participating for them in Tom Mount's Rebreather Expo at the Florida Dive Show on December 1-2. How about diving Friday November 30th?

Doug
That might be doable for me - if I fly down Thursday and get sorted with rental tanks, set up, etc. I can be diving on Friday morning.

We try to book at least a 6 pack so we can do longer run times, but never really formulates.
Who else does Friday 11/30 work for? Maybe we can get enough to book a 6 pack to ourselves ...

What, not show up at the office on a Friday, go diving instead and make it a three day weekend? Definitely count me in - Where do I sign?

Doug (Debersole) indicated he was up for some diving that Friday, so that makes 3 so far.

Nice - sounds like the start of a good plan to me! I'll make arrangements to be down there on Thursday, ready to dive on Friday ... Saturday too for anyone interested.

Great pictures from the Lady Go Diver trip, BTW - what are you shooting? I have an Ikelite housed D70 that will be making the trip with me (my carry-on is going to be ridiculous!) but I don't have the lighting fully sorted yet. My housing is pre-iTTL - looking forward to using it in clear(er) water!

Reef Photo is very close by, Ryan and the gang could help you out with anything you need while here.

I will probably take off and dive on Friday as well.

Looks like we're getting a group together. Who wants to be in charge of finding us a boat? Where do you guys want to dive? I'm off that whole week so just tell me where to be and when!!!

I'm probably up for Saturday as well.

I'm using a Sony point and shoot DSC-N1 similar to this one (Sony | Cybershot DSC-N2 Digital Camera | DSCN2 | B&H Photo Video), except 8 megapixels, with the matching Sony housing. And I have an Inon Z-240 strobe with a few Inon detachable underwater lenses. My setup looks a bit like the bottom one on this page (INON America - News & Events), but with their wide angle lens instead of the fisheye lens in this picture.

As vidodvr suggested, most of my accessories were purchased locally through Reef Photo (Reef Photo & Video!, The Underwater Photo Pros) - great shop!

I'd be happy to make make the arrangements. What kind of diving would we like to do? Reef/Wreck? Depth? Should we try to book a six pack and makeup the Post Dema Hydro Dive that never was? Or, any other suggestions?

We can try locking up Oliver or Conrad first, then if there is more than 6, move on to LGD or ScubaTyme
