Obvious Inspiration scam on Ebay

I would like to think that these guys will stop trying with rebreathers being as it is such a tight community.

The following is a notice from eBay Trust & Safety regarding:

Item Number - 190052611634

Item Title - CCR rebreather Classic Buddy inspiration

Our records show that you placed a bid on this item. We removed this item from the Site and cancelled your bid because it appears that the seller's account has been compromised and used by an unauthorized third party. The seller's privileges to trade on eBay may be temporarily suspended while we investigate this matter further. Due to privacy concerns we will not be able to share further details related to this seller.

Unfortunately there will always be someone who falls for this type of scam. I recall a diver saying on Yorkshire-Divers that they wired someone in East Anglia the cash for an Inspo when they were offered a second chance to buy after bidding on Ebay, and never heard anything from the seller again.

It is quite a tight comunity but those wanting in on this comunity who arne't yet, are the ones who invariably get bitten by these fraudsters :-(

I was one of the guys nearly burned (£1850) on an e-bay inspo but one of you nice folk warned me off and I avoided the purchase, so you do make a difference!!

Ebay already has a specific warning page about rebreather scams. I would think our rebreather community on Ebay is so tightly nit these days thats scams are getting harder to get through as more and more divers are asking questions before they commit to a purchase and advising Ebay of any scams they may find.
