Anyway, looking at the photos and reading the description, I reckon it aint worth what he is asking for this. But, you never know - someone may buy it ! The ones on the base I work at are in better shape than this - and I am trying to get the 'powers that be' to agree to dumping them cos they are crap. But, each to their own I suppose ! ![]() |

![]() | Re: LAR V - Ebay Cost is excessive - for a used incomplete rig. New ones - if you could buy one - are about $5000 USD. I use a Russian model and it is just as good, if not better and it only costs about $1000 (new). S Coker |

Then you probably have an IDA-57's or 59 unfortunatly the scrubbers on those front mounts are too small and they can be overbreathed very easily. Not even in the same class as a LarV IMHO. Thom |

![]() | Re: LAR V - Ebay I use an IDA 64 - very nice rig - back mounted with unusual harness - has a metal plate to carry some kind of limpet mine. Has double scrubber cannisters and breathes quite nicely. Can check out Dave Suttons website if interested in learning more about it. S COKER |

Very familiar with that rig... very nice to use as an O2 rebreather. Had an IDA-71. Need to ditch the DSV though. Not a good apples to apples comparison with a Lar V even if Dave said he perferred it to his Lar V. Today he has neither.Has double scrubber cannisters and breathes quite nicely. Can check out Dave Suttons website if interested in learning more about it. The Lar V is a very nice mil-spec unit. There is quality in a Lar V that is non existent in newer rebreathers and the fact that they are still used today says a lot. But to each his own. Thom |

Got plenty of mods for it, multi tanks, CC conv, etc. But recently trained on a Pelagian. Am so impressed with it, that I have one on order. Will keep the Dolphin for the Mrs. ![]() Last edited by gonediving : 29th April 2008 at 16:18. |
