Inspo Classic missing bits!!!!

There is currently an Inspo Classic with bits missing for sale on fleabay.

Reading the description sounds well dodgy.

No chance it is one of the ones nicked from Rich Stevenson. Its location is portsmouth

Seller has no Ebay History for last couple of years. Accepts Paypal though.

Lots of dodgy bits- " It has been left behind by a family member who has emigrated. I have absolutely no knowledge of diving etc so is of no use to me but I have done a little research and will describe it to the best of my ability."

and I liked- "The big grey tank in the middle is there just not the two oxygen type tanks."

Looks like a Scam, Smells like a Scam.... I've asked the usual questions, wonder if it has a serial number and its available for an inspection?

Hi All

Reference to auction 260228912893 (Darthcoker).

The seller had this Inspo on ebay a couple of weeks ago.
At that time he was advertising it with 4 cylinders.
It didn't sell.
I contacted him and made an offer for 2 cylinders, which I have bought from him.
I paid through Paypal (so have some come back), and he has advised that they have been shipped and I have a shipping reference.
If I get them (expected in about a week or so), great - if I don't then I will have lost $300.
Seems on the up and up to me - but will revert in time with follow up.

This seller has stated he would prefer local pick only and cash on collection.

Not the normal request of a would-be scammer.
And a thief would be a little stupid to do this - as he wouldn't know who was going to turn up ?

Well worth a serious bid, then only agree to collect.

I'm hoping to get to see this tomorrow and am currently the hightest bidder. I'm working on the basis that as it's colection it not a scam.

Ps uness any one has proof it's stolen (not a scam) please don't bid it up like all the other scams as I wouldn't mind geting this one. If they do let me know and 'l have the police round while I view it!

A friend has has one stolen from portsmouth this week.... he also has all the missing parts in his car...... sounds like a match (He spotted the unit on ebay today also)

The unit was spotted missing this morning and reported to the police. We are well on the case with this, The police have been informed.

There was also an aquazep taken, so keep your eyes peeled.

Fingers crossed we can get this guy

I'm thinking we don't hastle the guy too much or he will just disapear, who fancys a 'friendly' visit this weekend

So what was the end result of this? The auction ended at 1456 hours today, winning bid was £1020.

Was it genuine, scam or stolen?

Update for you all.

Rebreather and Aquazep back with the owner.

We had a friend in falmouth win the auction and make contact with the seller, arrangments were made to meet in a local Tesco car park in portsmouth, We made our excusses and passed all the info to the police.

Contact details from ebay, the guys bank details, their mobile numbers all confirmed the seller, The police drove by the house and spotted the zep through the window, and obtained a warrant to enter the property.

Woman arrested, man fled with rebreather but was tracked down last night and arrested.

A good result I think.
