Stolen eBay account

eBay.ca: Inspiration Rebreather (item 320179802497 end time 10-Nov-07 07:07:27 EST)

Looks like the guy had he account stolen there are a bunch of high dollar items with a $75 starting price A Nikon D200, D80.

In the shipping section he offer the inspo for 600 pounds and an email address.

Reported it to eBay

It has literally just been taken of ebay.
I had just long enough to save the pictures into my archives for future reference.
I have the email address - now it is wind up time !

Ahh... sweet victory! I've struck a blow against the scammers! <grin>

Glad to see eBay a little more proactive than in the past. Now if I could just find an inspo for $80

Followed this one up with the email address that was in the listing.
Sure enough, it was the usual attempt to get money purportedly through ebays' "Square Deal Trade".
Eventually he gave up with me, but not before he had given me name and address details for Western Union transfer.
Don't suppose the details are real, but nethertheless, I have forwarded all info to the authorities in Italy since that is where he said he was, and informed ebay as well.

Thanks guys! I'm infinitely amazed at the audacity of the scammers. They just keep hijacking auctions and, unfortunately, some poor soul that's new to fleabay gets taken. The Ebay police have gotten better about killing the bogus auction pretty quickly. Still, the scammers are ever more creative. I've reported several suspicious auctions that ran for days after being turned in. I guess when there's a billion or so listings that's not too bad. Keep up the good fight! FD
