LAR V sells on ebay - ????

The LAR V listed on ebay apparently sold - last I saw was $800+. Had several people bidding on it.

If anyone hears anything about this item would like to know - if it turns out to be legit or is a scam.
My vote: SCAM

I got no answer to my questions that I sent the seller (only some BS about sending item to me for inspection with Payment to be sent later) - nor from EBAY about it being a poss. scam. Seller uses different email to send you a message than listed on EBAY.

I was the winner of the LAR V auction. One of the members on this board tuned me into the fact that it was a scam so I cancelled my Paypal payment to the seller before he was able to accepts the payment. I got the same kind of garbage about a middleman shipping company being used for the transaction. This time the name of the company is Croydon Shipping International Inc. and the website is http://www.croydon-freight.ro/track.php. I chaecked it out through the IRS and it does not exist. I checked the Dever Chamber of Commerce and they have never heard of it. I wrote Craig, the seller and told him that unless he could send me a picture of the rig with a current newspaper showing the date and name of the paper he and his bogus shipping company would not be getting paid. I also asked why he would use such an obscure company for shipping when in the US we have great shipping companies like FedEx and UPS. the rig dosen't weigh that much so it dosen't require the services of a company that the website says handles cars and large freight containers. Really bummed that it is a SCAM as it would have been a great deal for a great and simple rebreather, but we live and learn.

I reported this probable scam to EBAY and they did not respond to me initially.
After the bidding was over - they finally did respond but it was just to say they were investigating and nothing more.
Seems they werent too interested in doing anything about this scammer asshole until after the bidding ended.

Glad the buyer was not ripped off - I have seen maybe 5 LAR V's for bid on EBAY and have yet to see one turn out to be legit. All were scams.

You want to buy a lar V 3 best ways, Know a navy SEAL know some one who has Navy surplus leads or accounts or Just go steal one ( hope you can use a computer in prison to let us know what happen) At one time there was a guy who had a lot of Drager gear he was getting rid of, along with Lar V's I told him to sell it on ebay he said he tryed but could not get the price close to what he wanted. Once in a blue moon you may get lucky and see a real one on ebay but the next blue moon is in 2008 or maybe it is in 2009.
