My bad news for the year

With a bit pain in the hips and a VA exam , I have been a bit freaked for some time. Today went in for the first series of xrays and looking forward to the MRI .

I thought I would share these fine images with you guys and maybe get a thought from some of the Diving Docs on-board. For you guys that have no idea what your looking at , its a large lesion in the right proximal femur, Its a bit of a nightmare at the moment but If I showed you more Xrays of other parts you would be amazed I am walking today.

Re: My bad news for the year

Hi Billy
i had the same problem two years ago it all started with a pain in my left hip
at first i put it down to the fact that i do a lot of running, but on see the doctor and being sent for an xray i was told that there was nothing wrong with my hip or the joint and the pain was all in my mind i said it is not all in my f***ing mind, when i calmed down and we started talking she asked did i take any tablets, i replyed yes i take Glucosamine sulphate, she then ask my why. i told her that i have read reports that it is goob for joints , she ask me to stop taking it , for 6 months and then to come back and see her, this i did . three weeks after i had stop taking Glucosamine the pain in my hip went, i did not take it any more for the last 3 weeks before going to see her, when i saw her i told her this, she told me some things about glucosamine , she then said to me to try retaking it again for the next 6 weeks and to come and see her if the pain come's back, this i did and the pain did come back , so i stoped taking it again and the pain went away, the last time that i took it was 10 months ago i still go out running, and have not had any pain in my hip since i stoped taking it. ( my mother inlaw also use to take it , after she stop taking it, the pain in her leg, that she did not have before she started taking glucosamine went away)
this may or may not be of help to you, as you may not be taking glucosamine
but if you are, try stop taking it and see if your hip pain goes
safe diving
dave

So... do you have a verdict from the doc yet? Will you be back in the water sooner? Later? Enquiring minds want to know.

Sorry to hear and see that, Billy.
Wish you the best of luck and that you'll still be diving when those kids grow up.

Re: My bad news for the year

Thanks for the response, and the pms for you Docs, so far we have got the chondroma , and a bunch of other Hmmm, Lets watch that !
As far as more xrays , I had a compound fracture of the tib and fib ( internal fixation) , left side , Grade four separation of the left shoulder ,My clavicle sticks up like a horn and left arm broken in 3 places.

I had a rough tour of duty in the service, Thanks again for looking at those. I have a appointment with a Otho oncologist (SIC) after the MRI . First Otho said get on crutches and be careful until we get the MRI , if I break it we have a big mess.
