ok, so the MRI machine is pretty small ,shit its really small

After the first 40 minutes they slide the table out and give me a shot. for the contrasting IMAGES ? I get done just in time to make my next appointment seems I have a large lump 6cm by Cm next to my spine between my shoulder blades they found during a exam of the spine that they wanted to do a biopsy or remove it and the doc says this is not a lypoma and he needs to get a look at it better ,( WTF, I am falling apart) I run back to radiology and get a ultra sound , turns out its not a lypoma but a phys-form / lined within the muscle???. they say "lets go with a muscle knot for now your as tight as a frogs ass" and they script PT for 2weeks and some robo something , 750 mg (west ward 292) on the tab
what the hell is that Mel and Does it work well with Rum ?
I know its a muscle relaxer.
If It is not resolved with in the 2 weeks we will make a new plan. More waiting ,

Friday I meet with the Doc to go over the MRI. I'm not sure if its the stress of the unknown but my hips ache more and getting weakness in my quads and hamstrings.

Moral of the story is, STAY away from the hospital and suck it up

Here is another funny thing that makes me laugh , they take your blood pressure when you go in and say , " hey your blood pressure is a bit elevated" . Really, no shit I wonder why.
Thats the name of the game in hospitals "hurry up and wait" - but serious get on the phone and ask if any cancellations you want their apt .... the waiting is hard to do and they have so many cases, that if you do not keep in contact with them you will be lost in line with everyone else. I know I work in the hospital field. The way to speed things up is to be demanding and keep making phone calls to get the tests sooner. good luck and let us know

No, I have had the same GP all my life with exception to military service. He says there are no records that would indicate a injury or trauma to the left femur. We tried to correlate something but could only come up with the infamous gladiator fight (summer of 82) a baseball game gone bad with my brothers with fence posts and baseball bats in which I only suffered from a few broken metacarpals and cracked ribs. I could have taken a blow to the femur then.
Hi Billy,
It does not look like a trauma on the right femur but hopefully it could be something you have for decades and slightly changing with time.
Let us know.
Take care.

Re: My bad news for the year

here we go again, today I had my first Pt appointment for the 3cm by 6cm lump"muscle knot" in the back. I get a get a great rub down as this is thought to be a muscles knot. Half way through she stops and asks if it would be alright if another PT checked it out , I say OK he starts to rub it and stops then they have the longest practicing Pt in the place come and have a look. I can see by now the wheels spinning.
My PT states they all agree its not a muscle and all the therapeutic modalities have contra indicators that will not allow them to continue treatment with out a definitive id on the tissue itself. So its back to a biopsy or exploratory surgery

I have a live aboard chartered for the 9th to the 12 of Feb and I'm going regardless.

I've hated waiting for tests... kinda sucks.
It is the sort of thing my overactive imagination
doesn't really help with. Good luck.

So where is your liveaboard trip to?

sweet , I will put that on the top of the recommendations. Funny , I have to say that the hip pain is relieved at depth and I plan to return ASAP as a therapeutic solution

Re: My bad news for the year

I spent the last three years going through this shit but it is gone now/ metastasized melanoma . been in remission for about 9 months. You are scared shitless right now but the key thing that you have to do is find a doc that is willing to fight with you, not against you. you will not make all the sessions, but with a good oncologist that won't matter. he will fit you in. you are not a cancer victim, you are a person living with cancer. and living is what you need to do. so go on the trip, i told my oncologist several times that i could not make it due to play activities. it is a balancing act, being alive vrs being a cancer victim. cancer victims die. people with cancer are still here to fight tomorrow.

Re: My bad news for the year

No worries, I got game and I like a good battle.
"you know your alive when you bleed a little"

MRI findings are still in debate, My appointment was a joke . the ortho surgery resident that came in had not seen the MRI and started off with a eval as if she had no idea why I was there, My wife who is a OTD nearly went ape-shit and asked her if she had even looked at my chart, Her response was UMM , No we have a ortho tumor specialist that will be in next week to review in a staff meeting. SO we left the appointment went to Medical records and check out a copy of my records , that included the radiology findings and opinions .
we have " can not rule out chondrosarcoma" and a bunch of remarks on the size and the area.
