It's better to be safe than sorry especially on the dive we're planning. Not a doctor but I think it would beneficial to dive before the MRI. ![]() |

Nothing serious. Like when you crack your knuckles (even when I am not diving). I think its probably due to lack of exercise. After diving they become slightly more audible (only to me). Even though I didnt do any serious dives. What I think It might be is the cold. Or dehydration. Teoman |

![]() | Re: Shoulder problem Rob, Good luck with your recovery. I have some shoulder problems too, did everything all the western docotrs could think of with limited results. Mu solution was accupuncture and after 5 weeks of one treatment per week my shoulder is good as new. I go in for tune ups occasionally if I over work the shoulder but I am now a believer. If you have any residual trouble after you heal I would look into. Nemo |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Shoulder problem This is not that uncommon. I don't know if I've ever seen it in any of the books, but it is definitely not DCI. The noise when you 'crack' a joint (e.g. your knuckles) is probably due to cavitation within the synovial fluid. It seems logical that if the synovium has more gas dissolved in it than usual (such as after a dive), cavitation will occur more readily. What is well known is that bubbles in synovial fluid do not cause any harm. Why it should happen more readily in your injured shoulder I'm not sure. Don't worry about it. Enjoy your diving and try to stay away from doctors. Andy |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Shoulder problem A quick update............ It has been about 3 months since surgery and I am now back to diving. I was cleared today to resume full diving duties at work and have been recreational diving for a month or so. The creepy noise is still there post dives for 4-6 hours with no pain. The surgeon can't completely explain it and neither can our "diving doctors". Life will go on and I will gradually work back up to doing deep dives in the near future. Rob |
