As opposed to Dr Simon Mitchell, one of the world's pre-eminent hyperbaric specialists, who also has done a couple of dives? ![]() A good instructor will have read a few papers and maybe a book or two. Simon Mitchell probably wrote them. See the difference? Mike

Comments? Problem with hydratation is that then you need to let the liquids go out. If you mount on your suit a Pvalve you will discover how relaxed you will be just because you know that you can pee whenever you like to. So no more problem with this. Nad

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Does Dehydration / Fatigue lead to DCS? yes ! I remember when I used to be that certain about things! This thread is making me quite nostalgic. It's just one of those sacred cows of diving. Dehydration causes DCS. It's in all the books, and manuals, and articles. So it must be true. Simon, you'll never convince them that it might not be. And of course, having your PFO closed reduces your risk of DCS... ![]() |

![]() ![]() | Re: Does Dehydration / Fatigue lead to DCS? he asked us to make it a habit of drinking fixed amounts at regular intervals and also avoiding too many glasses before and after meals. avoiding water at meal times! id be more inclined to avoid it at bed time. after three glasses that hour of the night, habit would be quick to form out of nature alright. So it broke down to- 3 glasses first thing in the morning , 3 glasses mid morning. 3 mid afternoon, 3 at bed time. it become a habit and then second nature. Shil if your piss is clear its a good indication that your hydrated, drink plenty over the day, if you are struggling dioralite etc are good way to speed the process, they just dont taste the best |
