![]() ![]() | on the patches off the ciggs a week or so now and with the weekend approaching anyone found any problems with the patches and diving, one side effect i am getting is muscle cramps and joint pain in the arm the patch is on not a great side effect getting out of the water dom |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: on the patches Dom, I believe that there is concern regarding the serum levels of nicotine under increased pressure. This, as I recall, was not based on a study, but rather a manufacturers' note. An alternative is "Committ" or "Nicorrete" Products, a lozenge and a gum, respectively. These products deliver the nicotine orally, and immediately rather than in a slow release manner as a patch does. Perhaps switching to an oral product would allow you the flexibility to abstain from nicotine during the dive, but allow you to enjoy it pre and post dive. All, IMHO, of course. Happy diving. |

![]() | Re: on the patches Dom, Personal experience, when i quit 15 years ago i used the patch. Went for a dive to 75 feet at depth i could taste the nicotine in my mouth and then got a case of vertigo. Never would use the patch again on a dive. Not a good time Helium_diver
