if your next LED-lamp shouldn´t be a stopgap mb sub has released 2 new LED-lights: X1 - FF and the X1 - VB Both are using a 3,5W LED and a special optic for getting maximum of brightness. The X1-FF has a fixed light beam of 2° with 21.000 Lux! This is record for this class! The X1-VB has a variable light beam from 2° to 35° in an unprecedented light quality. The max. brightness of the X1-VB is 17.500 Lux. Both lamps will be switched only with thumb, no twisting of housing parts are necessary. Switching is possible without any impact by depth. With the light beam of 2° you are on the save side of diving in each quality of water. With the 35° beam you can enjoy the colourfull underwater world. Both types of lamps additional exist in two different versions of batteries: the small one for 3 x AA cells and the big one for 3 x C cells. All parts are interchangeable. mb-sub.com: Home With both lamps mb sub closed a gap between simple backup lights and big main lights. Michael

Michael Hi, Can you tell us what's the Flux and Lumen using this light with 16 degrees angle instead of 2 degrees? This is closer to a laser beam than a flash light if I may say in which in my opinion getting Green Laser of 800mW would give you much better pointing if that's the intention of focusing the light to 2 degrees. Regards. Wael

Re: if your next LED-lamp shouldn´t be a stopgap Only for additional information, a picture of both versions. X1 for 3 x AA cells and X1 for 3 x C cells. I must correct the values of the light beam, the hard spot beam has 3° and the flood beam has 25°. The values of brightness are real. Michael

Re: if your next LED-lamp shouldn´t be a stopgap If you want to see, how cuts the 3° beam of the X1-VB the 50W HID video light, then go here: Last few seconds show the beam defocused to 25 degrees. This is a perfect backup light, also great for signalling even in open water. Michael Last edited by EBT : 13th January 2010 at 10:02. Reason: "signalization".... one americanism too far ;)
