Not sure why this entry is still here. I contacted them, and Jim informed me that they are no longer in business.

We went with Jim and his crew November 08. Very profecional and helpful Jim bent over backwards to help accomidate me and mine. He has every thing you need and most of what you could want right in his shop.

If your going to Hawaii"s Kona coast this is the shop to call first!!

I have just spent 3 weeks in kona with jim holt and completed my iantd inspiration rebreather course , Hawaii is everything they say it is , and I found konaquatica an excellent training facility . Jim never rushed anything and would go over and over any parts of the course I had problems with until it sank in.

I found the boat to be excellent for diving and the crew had a great knowledge of all the dive sites we went to . excellent all round operation

Konaquatica is a great dive charter operation and I agree wholeheartedly with the post by Hawkeye. I too was fortunate to see a humpback whale pass overhead, and found myself actually holding my breath on a rebreather to eek out any faint sound of whale songs….it is enchanting. The coral is not as vibrant as other destinations, but the variety of marine life; countless sea turtles, spinner dolphins make up for any lack of color or texture. Topside has some very nice brew pubs with pizza and other tasty combustibles. Yes Jim’s gas station is impressive, and he has a good variety of onboard ccr cylinders and offboard stage bottles.

Konaquatica was simply the best dive charter I have been on. The boat was brand new with lots of room for our small group of 4 divers. Captain Kathy new the all the best dive spots. We even had a humpback swim over our heads at 55'. The spinner dolphins were happy to show off for us. Jim was a great help even picked up some of our gear at the airport (shipped seperate and arrived late). Jim was also nice enough to pick up great sandwiches at a local deli for lunch. He also has one of the best air stations I have every seen in his garage and spare tanks so you don't have to travel with your own. It was not the best weather so Jim can't do everything but he sure did try. If your diving a rebreather this is the only spot to go in Hawaii to get full service.
