What setpoint for 100m+ diving do you use?

I have been playing around with different deco programs, different depths and bottom times for dives deeper then 100m...
What setpoint do you use during bottom phase and deco and why?
Just curious

Cheers

Re: What setpoint for 100m+ diving do you use?

Have not done that deep dives on Rebreather, but if would do I would use 1,0-1,1 during the descent and bottom part.

On deco I might raise it to 1,3 say at 12m up. At 6m I would just flush with O2.

Re: What setpoint for 100m+ diving do you use?

I use a 1.3, but bump up to a 1.4 up to 20 feet where I always do an O2 flush. I am usually over my CNS on long dives (anything over 2.5 hours). On the bottom, it would likely be better to run a lower setpoint (like 1.1), but I have it in my head that every minute at a higher PO2 is less gas that I absorb. I also usually run my offboard deco at 0.1 lower than my actual to add a bit of conservatism on the deco side.

Aloha,
Charlie

1.3. 1.5 on the way up.

Re: What setpoint for 100m+ diving do you use?

I don't get to these depths yet, but... if I were confident with my sensors and their calibration I'd explore using 1.3 on bottom, and try to minimize the oxygen burn toward the surface.

I know already my lungs don't like excessive exposure to O2. Gotta keep them OTU's down.

Good question and will follow with interest...

It would depend on the duration on bottom.

If it is just a quick bounce to max depth, I would use higher SP (1.2-1.3). And same SP for deco.

But if I plan to stay longer duration (20-35+ mins depending on how far past 100m) then I would use lower SP (1.0-1.1) on bottom. This allows me to use higher SP on deco (1.2-1.4) without frying my lungs too much.

Just my personal preference...

Re: What setpoint for 100m+ diving do you use?

At the moment I am playing with 8-10 min at 120m and then another 10min at 100m.

Personally, I would use 1.2-1.3 bottom SP for such a dive, and keep the same SP for deco.

We do similar profiles when diving the sub in UAE (~20mins at 115-120m) at 1.3 PO2 (bottom and deco) and IMHO it balances well between long deco and high CNS/OTU.

Re: What setpoint for 100m+ diving do you use?

Depending on which rebreather you use. at that depth setpoint overshoot may be a problem. I would run 1 - 1.2 and 1.2 to 6m then 1.3 - 1.4

my body dont like high o2

Re: What setpoint for 100m+ diving do you use?

1.4 most of the time, ocassionally 1.3 if the mood takes me. I stay the same for the whole dive. If I pick my bailout gasses correctly I dont need to switch tables in the event of a bailout either. I'm a KISS man
