With IANTD you can do adv recreational trimix along side the ccr mod1 course.

That's what I did, with Rich, about 14 months ago. Wonderful - I'd never go back. Max is 48m, max END is 24m (ergo max 35% He).

My wife is off to do Mod 1 and Advanced Rec Trimix with Dave T in a few short weeks. It's the way ahead and I thoroughly recommend it.

Cheers,

We actually use 30/25 for the U-Boat guys. You can figure out if we're ANDI or 'other'. Clue: The US Navy labels gas the same way.
I don't know about the navy so here's the alternate educated guess...

130 foot is approx 40m -> P=5Bar
With FO=30% that gives me a pPO2 of 1.5...

For a technical dive (these days!!!) I guess you'll want to stick to 1.4 or lower (25% would give you 1.2-1.3) so the 25 is oxygen and the 30 is Helium right?

Re: Normoxic Trimix in Mod 1???

I wish Normoxic Tri-Mix had been included in my MOD1 now I only have to do another 90 dives before I can dive with a clearer head.

And the only problem with getting fills from someone else is that if I get used to diving with that then go dive some where else where I cant get fills as I dont have the ticket im screwed

"Buy" yourself the Adv Rec Tx certificate. Most will do it OC but IANTD allows you to take the course on rebreather as well. The buy here is in quotes since it's basically Adv EANx but with a bit of explaining about effects of Helium and the same drills that you should be intrinsically familiar with....
After that you have that card to have your tanks filled with and the other to dive. That's at least what I did. Now my LDS does nothing wrong and he "doesn't know" what I use it for. Well maybe he does, I've demonstrated the unit on several occasions during club events .
