    i've read on another site (plongeur ?) your doubt about the origin of "Caimano" name

    "CAIMANI NERI DEL PIAVE" was the nickname for Italian's Army volunteers swimmers, going by night across Piave river for recon or assault operations against Austrian's Army trenches during WW1

    Caimano Nero (black) in Italian's language sounds really aggressive ...

    and the Caimano (a kind of Alligator) today is still on Comsubin emblem
    it was preferred to substitute the glorious (but too politicized) Decima MAS emblem after WW2
