Re: Mixmaster II, blending software questions

Hi,
GAP-Software has also a stand alone blender software.
It does van der Waals and Ideal gaslaws and has the capacity to
use different filling banks with different gas mixtures.

anyway you can download it from

GAP-Software

The multibank gas mixer is a part of the GAP-Diveplanner software but
available as stand alone program (for free!)

Greetings Kees

Seems very impressive. Even takes into consideration fill banks and pressures. Nice job! Merits some green IMHO.

Thanks for the nice words. We try to get GOOD software out to you all out there.
I 've to thank Frank Stoop for providing me with the base Van Der Waals code but the rest of the multibank gas mixer is all from my team.

We have a special offer for the visitors of the rebreather world, just follow the GAP-Software banner in the top of the rebreather world. I've mailed the new link to Stuart but here it is just incase it did not come though.
Special offer to Rebreather world

Even our decompression software is good , check out products page for all our products available.

Re: Mixmaster II, blending software questions

Hey gang!

Thanks so much for all the great insights and links. I am going to take a closer look at Gap tonight. I must admit, I haven't used it in some time. So, it's time to catch-up.

Again, you have all been quite helpful. Safe diving to all!

Randy,

I can't help with Mixmaster II but recommend Guy Wittig's Mixer which runs on Palm OS. It is very handy to have a small, calculator sized device that does the blending math.
Steve
This runs on my phone, a Treo 650. Excellent programme.

Re: Mixmaster II, blending software questions

Good morning gang!

All bloody right! The rain has returned to the Seattle/Puget Sound area. The snow and ice is melting (slowly). Yayyy! I digress...

I did download the Gap blending program and ran all sorts of "what-ifs" mixing scenarios. It worked quite well for my needs. It take a bit of "less engineering", more thinking on my part at first. I had become so used to calculating my blending in a certain fashion, that it took me a bit of time to figure the layout and the data approach. Good work there, Kees! You and your team are to be commended for a nice job.
I aree with Ron about Vplanner. I do use their mixing program as well. It has very good features as well. What I was missing was the ability to have multiple banks of pre-blend as well as having the banks of air, O2 and He calculated into the equation. VPlanner and Gap both have the ability to do the topping-off using the mix du jour of the operator. What I really liked was the Van de Waals equation as an option in the Gap software. In the past, I have had to do my on programming and add the calculation manually (Ouch!)
Does all of this mean I can't do the mixing using good 'ol paper and pencil? I can do it just fine. Give a few hours, though! Gap is much better.

Thanks to Howard and Ron for the insights. I appreciate the help. Thanks to all for your suggestions. Now...Go out and make no bubbles!
