Booster, again..

Hi

I know that HI or Haskel booster is possily very best of oxygen booster, but it is quite expensive.

How about ROB, Rebreather oxygen booster? Is it how many in-use this booster? Something good or bad news? Price?

Re: Booster, again..

Never heard of the ROB but Haskel had a slick new booster aimed at the Rebreather market for show @ DEMA. Retail was $1999USD. It's drive exhaust cooled the compressing piston. You don't get hot gas. Keeps Charles and Guy-Lussac at bay.

Re: Booster, again..

Has anybody got a pic or Tech Spec from DEMA of this new Haskel Mini Sport Booster or were the new rebreathers far more interesting.

Re: Booster, again..

I've got the Haskel Spec Sheet right here. According to the sheet, the Mini Sport Booster:
  • Charges Gases Up To 3,300 psig (227 BAR)
  • Inlet Gas Pressures as low as 100 psig (6.89 BAR)
  • Lightweight Portability
  • Integrated Cooling Jacket and Distance Piece
  • Drive: 4 Inches
  • Ratio: 25:1
  • Weight 12 lbs
  • Max Inlet Pressure: 4,500 psig (310 BAR)
  • Max Outlet Pressure: 4,500 psig (310 BAR)
  • Volume per cycle: 1,232 cu. in. (0.0202 litre)
  • Max Output Pressure: 3,300 psig (227 BAR)
  • Min Supply Gas Pressure: 100 psig (6.89 BAR)
Heather and I looked at this booster, as well as the Hydraulic Int'l and Jetsam units at DEMA. However I must admit that at $1,999 USD it seems a bit pricey when I can get the Jetsam for $1,575 USD. Looks like you're just paying for the Haskel name. Am I missing something here?

Wasn't that the "DEMA special" price as well? I seem to remember that retail was $2250?

Having owned a Kiss and a Haskel booster, the big difference is build quality. The small difference is design. Both these add up to give good reliable performance. In my experience. But as you point out, all this comes at a price. But, I can't fly around the world with my Haskel!

Pete,

Have you had problems with the Jetsam/KISS booster?

Likewise with my 007 Jetsam booster.

Oh no! ... Just realized that this is the last item I have from Jetsam with serial number 007 since CK-007 and SK-007 were sold... I better hang on to it then...
