![]() | Booster Pump I know there have been a number of threads on this subject, but some friends and I are looking to buy one. Has anyone had experience of this one? http://www.therebreathersite.nl/boosters.htm |

| Classic KISS No. 226 ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Booster Pump Now that I have my CK, I'm thinking about booster pumps too. The Underpressure Diving one is interesting based on pricing alone. I fear you get what you pay for though! I know one user who tells me that it require A LOT of drive gas to get a decent fill with it. And also spent a fair amount in the extra parts required to make it work. For me, the front runners are the MPS Gas Booster from Barrie Law. I saw one at the Birmingham dive show and they look like great pieces of kit ~ 2000 euro all in including whips etc... and the Jetsam baby booster. I just spent a week using Phi's and cant really see a reason not to buy one (especially as I'll be in Vancouver over Christmas )I'm interested to hear everyones experience, particularly from those that have used multiple boosters. Cheers Rich

![]() ![]() | Re: Booster Pump I've used a Kiss Baby booster fairly extensively and it does what it says... I have had problems with the reed valaves however and the unit has required stripping and rebuilding a number of times. I've had Hydraulics International Booster (From Tech Blue) for around 10 months now and am exceptionally happy with it. It's more robust than the Baby and uses ball valves instead of reed valves... If I was in the market again, it would be a very close call between the Hydraulic International and Barrie Law's unit which appears to be a very similar build quality. Cheers, Mark |

| Supporting Member ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Booster Pump I currently have a Hydrauics International booster too from Tech Blue and the build quality is first rate plus it has a lot of options on what you want to use to boost gas with i.e. high pressure, low pressure (shop air) or manually. it's a little louder than the kiss booster I previously owend but cheaper cost wise too. It gets a good work out around here because when I am not boosting rebreather cylinders with it I am boosting aviation breathing cylinders.... I do have to say that I am happy with it. Rob |

I tried the Kiss on a trip a couple of years ago and it was ok, I think owning a large Haskel I'm spoiled. And I also didn't understand why they would use Reed Valves either? If they made it with Ball Valves it may be a much better pump.I've had Hydraulics International Booster (From Tech Blue) for around 10 months now and am exceptionally happy with it.
