Wich booster should I get?

Hi guys!
Im planning to get a booster in the future,it should do helium,be small, light and still do a good job...will take it on boats and travel with it...
Is Jetsams Babybooster the one or Hydraulics International’s Rebreather Booster? Maybe I should look for something else?
What would you recomend

Re: Wich booster should I get?

I have the Jetsam Baby Buster that works great.

I have had and used it for 3 years now no problems it dose the job, packs down small.

I have added a filter on the inlet side this saves taking the buster apart to remove dirt from the valves. (no big task it take 2 min to clean, and can be done in the field.)

Re: Wich booster should I get?

I went through the same set of questions...

About a year ago I opted for the HI Booster.

The reality it is a much more substancial piece of kit... stainless HP cylinder and ball instead of reed valves.

I've used a Jetsam previously and although it's apiece of kit that works, I've had problems with the reed valves. The ball valves are much more robust.

Mine is carried in a small case 17 x 11 inches, including all valves, adaptors (to fill anything to anything) and a Posidon first stage set to 11/12 Bar... (Prefer Posidon due to the high flow rate at a fairly high IP) I can happily boost to 240 bar.

It's built very much along the lines of a small single acting Haskel... and even and AG30 is a bit heavy to be moving around too much.

I'd recommend the HI over the Jetsam every time.

Cheers,

Mark

Re: Wich booster should I get?

I ordered an MPS booster through Divertec. It hasn't arrived yet so can't comment on it - should be here when I come back from the UAE.

Price was OK - if you're in the EU you get to pay import duties, VAT and expensive transport on imported dive goods and this can be "substantial".

Actually, have to say I've seen the Divertec booster and had it been around a year ago it would have been VERY high on the list to be checked out.

Actually as a package (including whips etc) in the UK it probably works out materially cheeper than the H.I. imported from the States.

Give Barrie Law at Divertec a call and he'll give you some honest views.

Cheers,

Mark
