Thumbs up Blending panel

Well this is my first post and here is a little something to show everyone what I've been working on over the last week.
A friend that everyone knows as Explorer wanted a Mixing Panel built that would feed in: low pressure EANX 32 , high pressure EANX 32, low pressure air, high pressure air, HE and O2 connections, plus booster connections to optimize the remnants in both HE, and O2 cylinders. The panel does not have the labels on it yet, but other that that it looks fine.
Lessons learned:
  1. Don't cut the gauge holes too big. +1/16" is fine.
  2. Wait until all the gauges are in place before drilling bulkhead fitting placements. Then you can confirm the elevation and orientation of fittings.
  3. Space the bulkhead holes far enough away from the gauges to allow for minimum bend radius.
  4. Lube the NPT fitting very well, as stainless steel fittings tends to gall without it.
  5. Buy a "Swedgelock" bender as they are worth the price.
  6. Take a pipe cleaner and bend the shape you want it to look like first. It helps visualize the angles.
There are a few other things I might mention but my pride prevents me from exposing how forgetful (re: dumb) I can be when working late into the night. When the labels all get put on then I'll get Explorer to repost the photos.
My new motto: Things will be different next time!
All right Men as you were.
Good night.

Re: Blending panel

Aldo Ferucci, AKA Bubnobub, who can be found on this site, has some nice info on his website about gas mixing pannels. It might be worth you taking a look at.

Re: Blending panel

we (I) keep looking at upgrading our panel from just an air panel to full trimix.

I'm just trying to find the components at the right price

Anyone got any good sources of pipe guages and valves? preferably in the Uk but failing that cheaper than UK prices
