| Re: What max pressure do you boost O2 to? 250bar max. Ill get three dives out of a 250 bar fill with 80-100 bar in reserve. So i fill like this on multi dive gigs. Same for the diluient. I suspect a lot of 235 bar fillers will be in the 235 bar bracket of your poll and like me some of the 250 bar fillers will fall in the lower section some in the 250-300 section. It would have been better to say 245 bar + ATB

| Re: What max pressure do you boost O2 to? There doesn't seem to be much point going beyond 200 bar. That's enough for - oh, I don't know - maybe a 6 hour dive in a 3L? For which you should have a backup plan anyway. And the 7L that I take as backup will last me another... oh, day or so... |

Higher pressure is useful in smaller tanks or if you plan to dive over a weekend/week with little or no access to high pressure O2. One 3ltr pumped to bursting will do the best part of a weeks livaboard diving IME.My old LDS used to provide "test pressure fills" as I called them, Slow and hot with the hose running on the tank but they did make weekends in some locations possible that otherwise wouldn't be. Its not big or clever and I wouldn't fill them myself like that (or be within 500mtrs) but the result was handy :) |

| Re: What max pressure do you boost O2 to? ...or you could take a 7L/40 with a whip, and decant a bit. This also gives you a backup on deco. Increase it to a 12/80 and you'd be good for almost a week... buy a booster, and you'd go even longer. There's no way I'd boost to "test pressures" to save a tiny bit of money/space. There again I do my own fills which changes my risk tolerance. |

For normal stuff, 200-220 is sufficient. For big deco dives I carry a 10ltr side with 100% in so there's never a need to wear out a booster or stress tanks.
