Gas Prices?

I have just received a quote for O2 and He, and thought the HE was a good price, but the O2 seems very steep to me, just wanted to compare what other people are paying.

They are 50l bottles, not too sure on supply pressures yet, just waiting on an answer.
The rep has said they don't stock welding grades, only ultra high purity, am waiting on confirmation of the purity (I think it's gonna be 5 9's)

O2 £98
He £116

Rental £8 per month per cylinder (seems steep)
Delivery £29 (have asked about collection)

They are a London based supplier.

So, what are people paying and who from?

Cheers

Last J of O2 I got was £35 for diving grade in 2006, from air products.

I thought the O2 was bloody steep!! I was expecting about £50.

Air product used to have a depot near me, but that has closed.

I'll have to have a look at the welding suppliers, as BOC don't even bother answering emails

Re: Gas Prices?

FYI...

My latest pricing here in the States is $25.00 for O2 (2400 psi 282 CF) and $86.00 for He. Delivery charges are 13.00 per trip. Bottle rentals are $40.00 per year.

OK, have had some answers back, both bottles are 200bar, and the purity is 5.0, which is 5 9's, eg. 99.999.

No collection possible, unless an ADR driver in an ADR vehicle.

Maybe not so good after all

Re: Gas Prices?

I picked up an XL size cylinder from my local BOC branch after getting their special gasses division to deliver to them. It saved me about £30 from memory and the total price including the first months rental was £50

Hope that helps.

p.s. You need to contact their special gasses division for them to even talk to you about getting Diver Grade Breathing O2.

Regards
Stewart

Re: Gas Prices?

In Belgium 50L O2 for 26Euro and 50L He 4.6 for 132Euro. After one month you pay 6Euro for renting the 50liter.
