| Re: Gas Prices? p.s. You need to contact their special gasses division for them to even talk to you about getting Diver Grade Breathing O2. Who said anything about diving grade?? But thats a whole other thread![]() I am not in the market just yet, am weighing up prices and options. I am probably going to just Continuous Blend, rich helium (more than 35%) and rich O2 (more than 40%) will be done via a combination of partial pressure and continuous (Just dump some in the bottle then CB on top of it) Saves on having to bank stuff, and means I can get the bottles empty before sending them back, also avoids having to have a booster. As it is for OC then I would need a fairly substantial cascade and/or booster, so CB will help avoid this. I do actually have a blender ticket, so wonder if I should just be upfront about wanting breathing grade.

I tried getting Diving Grade Breathing O2 as a private individual but BOC would not entertain that. I had to order it through my local dive club (BSAC 1441) and produce a blenders certificate. Once that was done there were no problems and its now very easy to get O2. Its just a case of jumping through their hoops to get the relevant boxes ticked. It would probably be easier if you are a business with an account already and just upgrading your account to include the new gas. I am actually a registered company, albeit not VAT registered. Problem is, I don't currently have a contract with them for any gas.I suppose I could get a couple of bottles of CO2/Argoshield or similar, weld like mad to use them, and then 'amend' my requirements to include O2 or He. Also, as my 'premises' are the garage, would be best if I could collect. The other option is to just get a full 'J' from Lakeside, although I don't have any storage cylinders of my own. Cheers Sean

| Re: Gas Prices? Also, as my 'premises' are the garage, would be best if I could collect. Funny that, my 'premises' are a garage too ![]() Luckily I had a BOC depot 20 mins down the road to pick it up from. I have just solved the storage issue by getting three 15ltr cylinders Hydro tested and O2 cleaned. That way I can store 45ltrs and fill my inspo bottle too, so now thats 48ltrs, then take the J back to BOC again. Obviously this only really works if you have a booster available. I decided to use these 15ltr cylinders as storage cylinders, rather than scuba cylinders, and will now get them tested after a further 10 years like a J cylinder would be tested. Good luck with yours. Regards Stewart |

| Re: Gas Prices? AirProducts or rather their dealer didn't have a problem picking up from my house and its not even the address on my account. Hmm, so AP deliver anywhere, sound. Think the neighbours will have a great time when they see me wheeling that into the garage!!Funny that, my 'premises' are a garage too Popular premises in the UK![]() ![]() Luckily I had a BOC depot 20 mins down the road to pick it up from. BOC Special products in Guildford are about 40 mins from me, so that was the thinking behind me picking them upI have just solved the storage issue by getting three 15ltr cylinders Hydro tested and O2 cleaned. That way I can store 45ltrs and fill my inspo bottle too, so now thats 48ltrs, then take the J back to BOC again. I toyed with the idea of this, but initially I would be using 21/35 and 50%, with 32% for the shallower stuff, as such, I would just fill the twinsets via CB'ing, and same with the deco bottles, after dumping in a bit of pure O2. Obviously this only really works if you have a booster available. As for needing a booster, I could just use the quick and dirty bin bag booster to extract the last He, but if CB'ing this won't be neccessary. If I were getting a 200bar He 'J', then I could do 5 full 12l twinsets of 21/35, and send the bottle back empty. If I were to fill stages then thats a lot of dives!!! It would mean all the gas is stored in a ready to dive state, without having to worry about transfilling and topping up the night before diving (OC remember, larger gas volumes) Cheers for all the replies guys, it has provided some food for thought. Sean
