Re: Need to send my booster from Uk back to Jetsam

One way to get your booster working *is* to send it back to the manufacturer. But since you are an ocean away, perhaps you might prefer to do some basic troubleshooting and fix it yourself. The Jetsam booster is an *extremely* easy piece of kit to disassemble. Replacing a single O-ring (like the #20 below the Reed valve) and reassembling will usually rectify everything.

What are the symptoms?

What are the symptoms?
35 bar in the O2 supply cylinder, 35 bar in the destination cylinder, 250 in the drive gas cylinder . Very short cycling of the booster pump & no boost stripped & cleaned no difference

Re: Need to send my booster from Uk back to Jetsam

I remember reading a troubleshooting guide from Jetsam for the booster (may be in the manual). Stuff like checking the valves aren't leaking etc. It also told you how to imitate the action of the Humphrey valve manually - it could be worth searching for and trying this, it would at least tell you if the problem was the humphrey. There aren't many reasons for the thing not to work!

Yeah except the Humphrey valve. They say if you take it apart something to the effect of your booster will never work again. Must be something serious in there.

Re: Need to send my booster from Uk back to Jetsam

I have read the manual performed the checks on the reed valves etc but no joy . When I asked about the humphry valve I was told that Jetsam do not even have parts ,if it's f***** throw it away & fit a brand new one ! mind you they didn't tell me a price

Re: Need to send my booster from Uk back to Jetsam

Those are the exact symptoms of the #20 O-ring failing. But you apparently disassembled the booster and it looks fine?

Re: Need to send my booster from Uk back to Jetsam

I dissassembled the booster & it "looked" fine but I replaced it with a brand new one anyway

Sorry. I guess no one really answered your question, then. Perhaps DHL?

Angry Re: Need to send my booster from Uk back to Jetsam

I had a new J of gas delivered today & after equalising at 150bar the piece of **** boosted effortlessly to 200 bar ! I then equalised with another down to 75 & boosted to 100bar & finally equalised another to 35 bar but it didn't want to know about boosting Seems as if below about 50bar in the O2 supply J it doesn't want to know
