Stansted booster DTB5C

Looking at getting a small booster pump, has anyone had any dealings with this pump ?

Re: Stansted booster DTB5C

I own oneand am happy with it. Its a lot smaller than i expected but it does come in a nice store carry case (extra).

I haven't have the chance to do much boosting with it since i bought it about 4 months ago but the boosting I did do was pretty efficient.

Start with 100bar in a 3ltr of oxygen. Boost to 230bar using a 12ltr drive gas take about 12minutes and about 50bar out of the drive cylinder (if i recall correctly). It does slow down from 210bar onwards and I would include the caveat that I wouldn't buy it for OC boosting. If i had to boost a bailout once or twice a season i wouldn't loose much sleep but if i was draining a couple of 7's on each dive you'd get pissed off pretty quick.

The unit seems very well finished and the whips and connectors are included in the price.

All in if i were to buy again I'd buy the same booster.

Attached a few pics FYI....

Hi Dude,
Not much help but I have the electric version.
Great bit of kit.
Also if you look into service costs I found it much cheeper than, say a HASKEL.

Re: Stansted booster DTB5C

Hope your boosting soon!!!!!!!!!!!!
While speaking to the dude's @ stansted they sugested that I should keep the O2 perssure to a reasonable pressure say 200 - 220 bar (as aledgidly mine should boost to about 340 bar. mmmm special fills) and that will also help the seals last longer.

Re: Stansted booster DTB5C

Hi Baz

220 will be fine as I'm used to getting 150 max normally in the 3l so would get 3 dives from the 220 Bar leaving plenty spare.

Will go down to LIDS on Sat to see if I can get a deal on the pump there.

Cheers

Phil
