He analysers - Analox or Nuvair?

Currently deciding between buying an Analox He O2 analyser, and the one made by Nuvair:

Rebreather World Store

Trimix analyser for sport diving

Would be interested in views from those who have experience of both units and can comment on the advantages/disadvantages of buying one over the other.

Or indeed if there are other options available in the UK I would be interested to hear.

Thanks
Jamie

Hi Jamie,

I have used both and they are both good analysers the Analox has a DIN fitting that screws into the cylinder to sample the gas and the Nuvair uses a low pressure connector nipple that fits a dry suit hose or manual injection hose that I do prefer as it allows cylinders to be checked in situ.

The Nuvair is mounted in a case that can be closed to protect the Analyser section and the Analox you need to buy a separate protection case to keep it in.

They both have the ability to adjust the Oxygen & Helium % settings for altitude use or to offset atmospheric changes.

The UK seems to use more Analox and the US more of the Teledyne unit under different brand names and we do have both types in stock you can order the Nuvair online at a great price or email me for our best price on the Analox ATA.

I have an Analox and like it. I saw the Nuvair at DEMA, the case is much nicer but other than that they seem more or less the same.

Re: He analysers - Analox or Nuvair?

I was interested in one by diveritexpress called the analox Ata. It has a nice Lp hose system from the looks of it. I was wondering what others on the board had to say about it.

I second the Divesoft. It uses a sonic wave to determine the He percentage and as such eliminates the need for another consumable cell. Mine came with a voltage checker and a resistance checker and has a computer link.

Fantastic product, fantastic service and fantastic price......

Divesoft s.r.o.

Regards,

Lance

Re: He analysers - Analox or Nuvair?

I got a mix check from vandagraph at the dive show for a bit under 500 quid. Same as the Nuvair but came with the din valve connection in addition to all the other toys. So far very happy & better than the analox I used on my course & the local dive shop.

I purcased the Analox from DRE and love it. The lp hose is good, however, if you need the DIN flow restrictor it is expensive! ($125.00+ US)
