Re: looking for 7cfm compressor

I think you will struggle to find a single phase compressor bigger than 5cf. I use a compressor engineer based in sussex I got his details from the brighton dive boat skippers who all seem to use him. He always has lots of compressors for sale if you would like his contact details PM me he may be able to help you.

Re: looking for 7cfm compressor

Would agree, For the UK only the biggest 230 volt 50Hz single phase electrical motor running a 5.5 acfm 160 l/min compressor to 350bar would require a 3Kw or 4HP at 1500rpm to drive. Look at Machine Mart for a cap start and cap run desigh motors they may have them but I doubt it in cap start and run. Proberbly just available low duty for fans etc

There are bigger 5HP 4Kw motors from ABB and Brook Crompton Motors but they are very expensive, about the best price for capacity would be the WEG 3Kw cap start and run, its only 4HP but may do the job. 240 volt 30 amps Luden type plug supply would be required.

If you want to plug into the 13 amp domestic ring main your limited to about 2 HP in standard cap start and run builds.

Alternative move to the states and they will let you run 10HP DOL!!!

Re: looking for 7cfm compressor

Our club recently aquired a single phase 8cfm comp & if I recall its a 7or 7.5kw motor ,it is a monster . The cabling to supply it was interesting due to the length of run it has to do to get from the board to the comp . We were very, very lucky as the whole thing only cost us £400 !

Re: looking for 7cfm compressor

Talk to your local ColtriSub dealer. Here in the US, we go up to 9.8 CFM on single phase.

The MCH11 is the machine you are looking for. It is rated for 7CFM at 330 bar.

You can see the specs here.
