LP compressor and booster

Hey
I have a small low pressure compressor that I use for commercial diving. I was thinking of using it as drive gas with a booster to do my fills on the weekend. It puts out 13 cfm at 135 psi. I would imaging that it would work well, as long as I keep a moisture and oil separator on the compressor. Any thoughts. I don't own a booster yet.

Should work OK but your final pressure is limited by your drive pressure, which at 135psi (9bar) is a little bit low. My Jetsam baby booster only manages to pump to 200bar with a 10bar drive pressure (though I think most people get a bit more output - I must service it). You want a booster with a high output:drive ratio. Also depends on the supply tank pressure - mine gets a lot slower when the supply pressure drops, best with 100bar+.
I've got a booster and have been thinking of getting a LP compressor to drive it but put off a bit by needing to clean up the drive gas. (another thread)

The input pressure needed to drive the pump depends on the booster used.. On my booster with 135psi drive I can get over 10,000 psi out...

If you are going to get a booster like a haskel the drive gas HAS TO BE dry otherise you will end up ruining your booster pump... The center section although it looks like metal is a special composite, moisture will remove the lubrication in this section and the unit eventually heats up and gets pitted...
