| Despotic Overlord ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Some advice please of our Haskel Gurus We just got a AGT-15/30 Haskel Booster for the dive centre where I work sometimes Pah cut and paste changed text oh well - right I know the supply and boosted gas uses a 3/8 inch SAE fitting so I can procure fittings for that. But the drive gas - can anyone give me a hint as to what the fitting is for that and the supply pressure needed before it turns up? I woudl be very greatful....we are thinking of supplying it from our banks of air but am just wondering what sort of pressure we need to feed it and if any one has any hints for the fitting and some sort of first stage? Thank in advance Stuart PS - Darlene I am betting you come up with some advice here! |

Drive gas will be 150psi/10bar MAXIMUM for any Haskel. I THINK the fitting for the drive gas will be 1/2"SAE....but don't quote me on that! ![]() Mike |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Drive gas connection is 1/2'NPT. Pressure is listed as 150# ...They do fine at 175 as well if you're using a dedicated shop compressor that drops off when it's not able to keep up with the Haskel. If you use scuba air to drive it, common for a shop to do, be sure you have a regulator that can supply the flow rate that it needs. Haskels are Air Hogs! If you're filling doubles, you'll be able to use close to 25 cfm of drive air. Putting wear and tear on a scuba compressor and it's filter stack, just to then reduce that expensive-to-produce air back down to 150# is not the most cost effective way to go. Better to buy a shop compressor just to run the haskel. Put a valve at the drive air inlet to throttle the cycle rate, as you get close to the target pressure, you want to slow down the fill rate. You also have to slow down the rate when filling smaller cylinders, deco and Rebreather. Good luck, Darlene |
