I gave up trying to find scuba fittings here several months ago. You walk into 100% of the places around here with any SCUBA fitting and they look at you like you're from mars. HP stuff (2000 psi +) is worse.

Instead I used a 1/4" NPT to a barbed connector, and just cut the end off a spare LP inflator hose. Then add a hose clamp, inserted the barbed end and tightened a hose clamp over the end. It doesn't leak and works perfectly.

Hey dude -- would you mind snapping a picture of your project and posting it?

Great idea, I just wanted to see what it looks like.

Thanks

Quick correction - the barbed NPT fitting is then attached to a 1/4" NPT female threaded male quick-disconnect to attach to the compressor.

I have a full description of my booster with close-ups of the fittings on my web site here:

Lots of 150 PSI oil-less shop compressors here in the US that will do the job... I bought mine from Sears a couple years ago for 300usd or so...

Works like a charm!

Just got back from Lowe's.... You people are a bad influence!

Purchased a new DeWalt that they just got in. Model#55146 $349.00 , less 10% of the first purchase if you get a Lowe's Credit Card.... Which I did. They approve you on the spot, assuming you are breathing and aren't trying to rob the store!

An additional 2 year Warranty is $49.00 (Gives you three years total.)

Anyway, it's a bit larger than other DeWalt model mentioned but same form factor. Weighs in at 83 pounds with a 4.5 gallon (17.0 Litre) tank.

160 psi cut in and 200 psi cut out pressure. The selling point for me was that it pumps 5.2 scfm @90 psi. That's a good volume for a compressor of this size. The smaller 150 psi ones do anywhere from 2.0 - 2.7 scfm max. It's also very quiet.... Rated at 78 dBA. It also fits easily in the back of the SUV, leaving plenty of room for all the other gear.

Just ran it with the mini-haskel and it really does the job and is relatively quiet for a shop compressor.
