A CCR diver out here bought one of the jetsam baby boosters and when we tested it out, it only pumped upto 1800 psi. We took it apart and found the piston head completely covered with filings. Yuck. He send it back and has had no problems with it at all.

Sounds like someone is likely to get killed. I have a 6inch stainless steel 'tee' fitting from BOC gases with 60% of the metal vapourised because of a contaminant that passed through the line and hit the wall. The tee itself became the fuel in the oxygen fire that ensued.

A 6" tee has a wall thickness close to 2".

Poor fitting, excess wearing and debris in a high pressure pump can cause heat, friction and impact ignition.

Scaremongery? If it makes you stop and think, then yes, fine. But true nevertheless.
