Should I trade steel 120's 1 for 2 AL 80'?

Guys I am new to transfilling ..... is it better for me to keep my steel 120' or trade them for 2 AL 80'?

I have a chance to sell my 2 Steel 120's and the money I can get can get me 4 AL 80'?

what is best for transfilling the Steel 19'???

Thanks

The math is simple on this. If you can get full 3500 psi fills of oxygen and of mix / dil then keep the 120s. If you cannot get 3500 psi fills of oxygen / mix/dil then dump em and get 4 80s ... now you have two 80s for oxygen (cascade) and 2 for dil/mix

The LP steels are 2400 psi bottles and even at 1800 psi in them you have 13 cuft which is more than enough for most square profile dives.

Cheers

I can get a full 3500 on O2 and my Dil....21/35... but I only have 2 steel 120's... so if I have one for 02 and one for 21/35.... i don't see how this is a better set up than 4 AL 80's....

but so I have all the info on the table... I already own 4 AL 80's so my fill bank as it stands now are 2 AL 80's and 1 Steel 120 for o2 and 2 AL 80's and 1 steel 120 for trimix 21/35

is it better to have 4 AL 80's for o2 and 4 AL 80's for trimix?

it would seem to me that 2 bottles is always better than 1 becuase I can cascade them... please advise

Thanks

Based on what you have shared I would go with the extra psi that the steel tanks provide you.

Just my 2 cents....

I'll probably be leaving my booster at Pats for us to use after my Michigan trip.

Re: Should I trade steel 120's 1 for 2 AL 80'?

If you fill all four of your 80s with source gas, will you still have more tanks to use for bailout in addition to those?

I ended out buying the large commercial cylinders from my gas supplier, and I just trade them out when I get new fills. I specifically made this deal with them so that I do not have someone claiming that I do not own tanks that are in my possession someday down the road. I keep the receipts to show that I originally started out with customer owned tanks. So, if anything ever happens, nobody can claim that I have "stolen" cylinders.

They will do the hydros on them when they become due without me having to pay for it, and it is less hassle on my part. However, I have to drive to the fill station with my tanks whenever I need new gas. That can become too much work for some. I find it worth it for myself.

This is good.... I really don't like the Hot Filling that Fill exspress does... so we can get our 02 with pat.
