Haskel Mini Booster Fittings

OK, just purchased a new Haskel mini booster from Barrie Law. Nice, easy cross ocean transaction. The booster unit comes with no fittings.

Question- air drive is 1/2" NPT-no problem finding fittings for drive air.

According to Haskel, the in and out gas ports are 3/8" SAE fittings.
Any suggestions for finding fittings that will allow quick disconnects (as opposed to a fixed hose line) for use with either Ron's TMIshop or Jakub's golemdiver whip kits???

CLARIFICATION: what I'm looking for is a 3/8" SAE male fitting to 1/4" NPT conversion.

Thanks in advance,
Tom Hanaway

Re: Haskel Mini Booster Fittings

Swagelok.com the source for fluid system components

Or Parker fitting should get you everything you need. I find the web site a little tricky, and would ask them for a paper catalog, its easier to use.

Good Luck

Re: Haskel Mini Booster Fittings

I'm working on the same thing as we just got ours in last week. I spoke to a guy at Haskel who comfirmed the 3/8" fitting, but wasn't sure if it was 37 or 45 degree flare (JIC v. SAE). Anyone out there have a definitive answer to this?

Best Regards, Jason

I don't think it maters, as your not connecting to a flare. You just need it with SAE to get the O-ring on the fitting.

Re: Haskel Mini Booster Fittings

FYI, SAE is the same as what Mcmaster calls "UNF". They have various adapters, not exactly sure about the ones in question.

e.g. SAE 8 = "8/16s inch" = 1/2 inch UNF

Re: Haskel Mini Booster Fittings

Ok-moving forward. Melissa at Haskel has confirmed that the female port fittings for gas (not drive gas) ARE 9/16-18 SAE. Swagelok.com the source for fluid system components has stainless steel fittings.
What I ordered was part #SS-6-SAE-7-4. This is an adapter from male 9/16-18 (3/8" SAE) to 1/4" Female NPT. An alternative #SS-6-SAE-1-4 is available to convert to male 1/4" NPT.
Total cost for two is about $40 US plus shipping.
From this one can use any standard whip fill kit.

Tom

Same fitting as used on the HI boosters..

I prefer to use the SAE to swage tube fitting.. On my whips I then have a tube connector thats easily removable, and cheap.. the adapters are alot cheaper as well.. Last timew I ordered them they were about $8 a piece..
