![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Anyone recognize this fitting? Hello all, this is the 41 liter O2 cylinder fitting we will be decanting from during our trip to Ambon Indonesia. Anybody know exactly which adapter(s) would be needed for the whip to decant to our O2 cylinders? I'm told that it's a 5/8ths-14mm fitting, that's all I know for now. It looks like a din fitting, but I know it's never that easy. Any ideas out there? Thanks very much, -Andy |

According to W+S Water Safety Europe GmbH - Adapter für Sauerstoff Ventile nach Ländern Indonesia uses a 'British Bullnose'. Same thread as a DIN, but rounded tip. There is also a 'Euro Bullnose' that looks alike but on that one the tip is under a fixed angle (NFE 29-656). You can buy these adaptors from Undersea. Their stuff is really great (although a bit expensive). HTH Steven Last edited by steevke : 28th February 2007 at 10:34. Reason: spelling! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Anyone recognize this fitting? I see you are in US, it looks like a CGA 580. The 580 in the states is for inert gases. The 540 is the O2 standard. In asia it could be anything. Some countries use whatever is available. Most valves are identified by a number on the valve. I suggest you e-mail them for a specific. Ask them to supply you a fill adapter. Most of these adapters have a pipe thread on the other end which you can rig to. It could be either a 1/4 NPT or a british standard. It will more than likely be a tapered thread in any case. Dale |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Anyone recognize this fitting? British Bullnose = 5/8" BSP with RH thread. This is what is used here in neighboring Malaysia, and I believe the British standard that is attempted to be applied. If worse comes to worse, you can purchase a welding torch reg set at a local hardware store in Ambon and take apart the fittings on the oxy reg to use on your O2 supply. I think all you'll need is an adapter from 1/4 NPTF to whatever fitting you have on your filling whip. Last edited by Gilles : 2nd March 2007 at 13:20. |
