Re: My thoughts on the rEvoII

I also had a look at it. I'm now convinced by the split scrubber design - it's a safety feature, not something for lime-cheapskates - and I also liked the way that the Counterlung case and backplate was curved so as to bring the Counterlungs close to the body.

And it's very, very thin.

Re: My thoughts on the rEvoII

Hi rEvo-kiss users...

a questtion for either

i read the classic and sport kiss manual and the rEvo manual
for measure the flow in kisses manual is used a flowmeter "Dwier VFB 60", as the mine, for AIR but for measure an Oxygen flow and i don't read about any conversion formula

with the rEvo what is the hardware needed to measure the flow?

the conversion using the attached formulas is needed??

Giovanni

PS

note that the file flowmeter.rar.zip is a winrar file renamed .zip to upload

this is a my file and can be some errors in formula

Re: My thoughts on the rEvoII

Hi,

As explain in the rEvo II manual you can check the flow when you mesure the time needed to let the pressure drop from 100 bar to 50 bar when the oxygen valve is turned off.

Re: My thoughts on the rEvoII

Oztek has just finished, and one of the surprises was the Revo. Paul did a very clear and confident presentation, showing his design and fielding all questions with a calm authority that was impressive.

As is the unit. I had quite a few questions in my mind which were all answered by the end of his session on Saturday. Of particular note are the elegant quick connects for tanks of accessories. Other manufacturers note - we need to attach torch canisters, and stuff (mmm - stuff) to rebreathers and not having the provision there in the first place is a drag...

While it wasn't present, due to airline weight restrictions, the mini rEvo look about as good as it gets in this style of unit. Drool.

Not a method from either manufacturer, but my method (bulletproof method) is a 1 litre glass graduated cup (as used for cooking measurement) and a length of rubber hose and a bucket of water. Upside down glass cup in the water, hose under it, other end of hose to flow valve output and catch a 30 second sample of gas. Multiply x 2 and you have a litre/minute measurement that is better than any flow meter. With the glass cup you can read the sample while it is still in the water bucket.

I use quick disconnects on my gear so I snap the hose off the rig, snap on the rubber hose (I made one with a connector on it), and into the bucket it goes. Makes life simple and is 100% reliable. It's a true measure of litres per minute.

Simple = Good.

Waiting for my box from Paul....

Dave
