Seeing that 4 of your pro-Optima arguments are based around the Micropore cartridges one should note that a Meg can accomodate them if the owner wants to use them. While still retaining the option of granular absorbant for travelling. Is that actually true? Is Leon finally selling the adaptors??? I was not aware that was actually taking place. It would be great news if it was the case...![]() Dive Safe... Mark |

It would be great news if it was the case... He has sold them for years. No one I know bothers with them though as the advantage (rarely changing sorb on a boat) is well and truly outweighed by the increased duration, lower cost, better availability and use in a variety of scrubbers of granular sorb.Dive Safe... I have to admit - When I finally decided to buy a Meg, I thought for sure my first purchase was going to be an adapter for the EAC. Then I realized the price differential, how truly easy it is to pack the Meg's axial scrubber, and haven't looked back since. I'm glad I didn't buy the EAC adapter with the Meg, and I'm glad I didn't get an Optima (Which I was considering becuase I thought the EAC's were a great idea). It's funny looking back, at all of the things I was told, and what I thought, and how after every conversation I was more confused. Needless to say - I couldn't be happier with the Meg. I have had many discussions with people contemplating which rebreather to get, and realistically, whatever you get, you'll probably love. With that said - the more I learn about other rebreathers, and now with more knowledge, I am very happy and confident with my purchase of the Meg.... No buyers remorse in any way, which partly is due to luck - and partly due to figuring out that the Meg was the best match for me. |

![]() | Re: Meg or Optima and why? Word on the street here in Va (purportedly from Pete) is that the granular scrubber option is coming in the future also but no time soon. There was no stated timeline for "no time soon." James Last edited by JAM : 15th December 2006 at 07:43. Reason: Gross mispelling |

| Who loves ya, baby ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | For those new to rebreathers, "almost ready" in this business usually denotes periods measured in months or years, "no time soon" should be in the 'decades and scores' neighborhood, but short of 'ages and eons'.
