The unit is a great piece of kit for it's intended use and th. Your assumptions on the gas switch is correct. I can't imagine one has come up for public sale though, if you have a lead can you PM me please?

Got a few hours on one!
Push down/up lever, via a slot cut in the front of the case, alternates from CCR Oxygen to Nitrox SCR and vice versa.
Watch your bouyancy going from CCR to SCR on the fly as you go from minimum loop volume to damn near max loop volume in a couple of breathes. Designed to change over from Pure O2 @ 8m for Nitrox diving down to a max of ~21m with 40/60, with not many bubbles on the surface.

Note: there is no monitoring of PPo2 fitted to this as per Draeger Combi Spec, you also don't get much endurance in SCR mode @ 21m, though the integral OC nitrox setup (if still @ 200bar) does provide a useful bailout if in just O2 mode.
Note2: Refer to Jan 2008 DAN Tech Conference presentation by NEDU, IIRC they had some interesting unmanned tests results with regard to Hypoxia in SCR mode.

Technically you could do the same concept with a backmounted drager dolphin with a 40% Nitrox jet & a Leaky KISS valve for O2 with a switch block for the feeds/ADV to alternate from Nitrox to O2 - can't see any real benefit for this and the complexity & lack of (standard) good PPo2 monitoring would make a simple CCR more pleasent in comparison to dive, the LARVII is designed as a working tool for a niche market, well made & robust in comparison to some more recreational Rebreather's.

Steve, there was a LARVII going recently on either tecme.de or therebreathersite.nl

Regards
Brad
