Which rebreather has best trim

I would like to start a discussion regarding experiences of which rebreathers have the best trim and modifications used to enhance trim and general underwater comfort.

Personally I use an inspo in a DT box. I have been suffering back ache recently. I use 2 x backmounted 7ltr - 1 dil and 1 50% nitrox with a 2 or 3 ltr o2 mounted underneath.

I have weighted the unit so I have resonable position in water and also mover the backplate lower ie to help offset the lungs. Still not perfect - I am thinking of turning the 7s the right way up to help balance me better - with the O2 mounted on the side.

Any views

It´s the diver not the rebreather?

I have a 2kg lead-weight on top of my rEvo and together with 3kg on the weightbelt that works for me...

Is using 7 litre cylinders the cause of the problem, or at least adding to it?

I find the short-arsed KISS case gives me horrendous backache on long dives or when using a scooter. Not too mention nearly dislocating a few joints when trying to get in it on a boat bench.

I know, I know by a Narkedat90 stand...

I found the Inspo uncomfortable in standard trim (though admittedly I probably didn't dive it long enough to get my weighting spot on). It always pushed down on the small of my back (I'm 6'4" tall).

I now have, for various reasons related to my 5' tall wife, an Evo on John's prototype Narked@90 Evo stand. Although it is much the same height as the Inspo, because it is square at the bottom and because the weight of the Evo is higher up my back, it trims beautifully and pushes down on my backside. I doubt it could be much better.

I carry all my weight other than stages on the inspo case so there is no twist on me.
The stages are steel so they hang down so again no twist.
This is trimmed out to lie horizontally on a stop.

I suspect if I had a weightbelt so the bottom of the case pulled up to compensate for the belt pulling down my back-acheless situation might change.

Funny enough, i agree

That thing had a sweet trim.

I have to change a lot of things on a Boris between cold and warm water to get it to trim right.

The Abyss and Stingray were designed with trim in mind. They are beautifully streamlined, and need *NO* trim weights.
