Re: Which rebreather has best trim

The Abyss and Stingray were designed with trim in mind. They are beautifully streamlined, and need *NO* trim weights.

cheers...

I have to change a lot of things on a Boris between cold and warm water to get it to trim right.
I think that the long steel tanks on the RB80 make it trim out so nicely. In fact, it feels no different than a set of doubles. No trim weights or anything else needed.

Re: Which rebreather has best trim

I dive my Kiss Classic with a 4 lb head weight and have raised the mounts and dropped my AL 19s down about 3" and put pvc caps on the top for better trim while caving. The caps are more streamlined and are just high enough to protect the tops of the hoses. You can also put some soft weights in the caps if you need more head weight. Lowering the tanks also makes the valves easier to reach. I use a Dive Rite Nomad double bladder wing and side mount my side bottles with a butt plate that trims out very well. The Nomad allows you to crimp down the top of the wing to help with the head weight.

I agree with GRAZIE. Its the diver, not the rebreather.

The Pelagian!

Excelent trim straight out of the box.

No need for extra weights to get the right trim.

Designed to have good trim.
Valves at the top and a very compact head is the key to it's performance.

Re: Which rebreather has best trim

Hi,

I've dived a dolphin since I started rebreather diving...a coupe of years ago.
I first dived the original dolphi...the trim was...wel not too bad.

then we started modifying making all trim possible errors... I suffered terrible back-ackes ....

I recenltly did a new shell (have a look on my site "coque" page) and this time we attached a 4 kilos bar on the shell behin the diver neck and 4 kilos on the shoulders...and no lest anywhere else, all the lest up :

results : fantastic...a new rebreather life for me .

the trim is just ...so important.

regards

jean mi

For me the rEvo (after I owned two Inspirations). The Inspo's killed my back.
