Annual service and cost

Hi all,

Started this thread from another thread about AP annual service. As I've stated there in order to have a fair platform to judge from we need info about Rebreather manufactors and "head producers" service policy and cost.

So what's involved in an annual service and what is the cost for the different makes and models. Hammerhead and Deep Pursuit are also in the pot.

Cheers

Re: Annual service and cost

I have had the Inspo Classic a Hammer head and a KISS

I was not informed of a specific service routine for any of them. I don't know of anyone who sends a KISS away for a service and I am vague about the HH as it would normally go back for repair or upgrades only. Is that a service??

AP is the only one who seems to offer a formal head service but again I was never taught that is was to be done unless the unit had a problem?

O rings, Cells, Solenoid, magnets and the cleaning of Molex and cable ends was taught to me during Mod1 and treated as ongoing routine maintenance.

Re: Annual service and cost

During training we covered the Classic KISS annual service:

overhaul first stage regs (two Apex first stages) ($???)
overhaul second stage on BOV ($38 for Mares kit from Jetsam)
clean kit and replace o-rings ($20 Jetsam O-ring kit)
replace O2 cells ($210 3 R22-D)

Polishing shiny metal bits... Priceless!
