Why you do not let your cat sleep on your counterlungs

This may seem obvious to most, but the other day I found my cat asleep on my CL's. They were on a work bench where I was doing some repairs to the unit. I have just spend the last hour trying to get a neg on my unit only to track down a perfect paw print of 4 small pin holes in one counterlung.

Most annoying

So, it's not 9mm rounds we need to worry about, but cat's claws. Luckily, my wife is allergic, so we don't have a cat....

Cheers,

LOL - I've only just read the article. A last bid for freedom, or just bitter revenge?

It could have been worse - it could have crapped in your lime as well!

Re: Why you do not let your cat sleep on your counterlungs

Hi Matt,

When I saw your cat 'arrange' that CL/pillow with its claws before laying down on it, I commented that it can't be good, but I'm surprised that it did so much damge to it. I caught my dog chewing through the PO2 meter cables my Rebreather the other day, but I could not see any serious damage. Just goes to show that pets and rebreathers don't mix .

-Marek

PS: Any chance of helping me plate a few more parts?

Tom Mount (CCR ITT and a pet owner) once told me: "If it won't hold a negative it's cat hair and if it won't hold a positive it's dog hair."

About paw and teeth well, ok.

I had two dogs (now just one) and one of them had long hairs (Landseer). You can't imagine where I did find hairs and, between others spots, also on O-rings etc: never had any problem about neg or pos tests.
I don't think it really is a problem.

Best,

Nad
