I for one prefer rebreather divers on tech trips. Have kitty litter available, and AL 40 stages available with all flavors of gases for rent. Rebreather bottles are available for rent for some units, more soon, spheres probably never.

Re: How many boats support rebreather divers

Our boat 'Shadowfax' supports rebreather divers but New Zealand on the whole doesn't support gas blending. Unless money is no object.

How is New Zealand on getting pure O2 for CCRs?

Re: How many boats support rebreather divers

Divers Choice Charters in Nanaimo BC gives free O2 and air dil fills to his Rebreather customers. Also, unlike most other boats around does not charge extra for 60+ minute dives. Ken says rebreather divers are less hassle to deal with than many others.

Dave is totally right. Divers Choice Charters are the best all around, Ken and Carolyn go way out of their way to please their customers. I would hightly recommend them for rebreathers. OC too!

EXPLORER does the same: Free 02 and air dil topoffs. Keeps the gear down on the boat.

We have a few stage bottles available for rent, alum 40's and 80's, have 'Sorb for purchase, and also keep 02 and air filled 2 and 3 litre cylinders on hand for those traveling in from distance, for use on most rigs as internal gas. Makes it simple to travel without bottles.

We *really* prefer Rebreather divers. Less gear, and smarter (meaning "more involved") divers...
