![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Colkan Eagle Just an FYI for those guys discussing the restriction in the biopack center section. Hi Marc, as Steve and Jason will atest to there is a restriction in the "body" of the "eagle" unit (regardless of it pedigree). Col and I discussed the gas density depth limits and that it was under trial with steve and a few others. If they thought there was an issue they would alter the path and make it ramp up etc and continue further testing. The BMR 500 center section I have does not at first appear to have a restriction, there is no half moon at all, it is a full circle just over 1 1/4" ID, that is until one puts the scrubber into the center section, and then you get the half moon effect as when the scrubber is seated properly it blocks (rough eyeball measurement) one half of the exhale tube. The O-ring is above the exhale tube and the center section is machined such that the scrubber can go in to a predetermined depth. There are some people (Phi, please don't get upset ) who have dove the BMR in the 300 to 400 fsw range and I have not heard of any reports of problems with WOB. I have heard of a number of people doing sub 150 fsw dives on biopak center sections and have not heard of problems (not to say there weren't any). Just my 2 cents. Marc It was propably my only concern. |

I just went to get some K-1D's from a local importer and found he had sold his entire stock to Colkan last week. Approximately 30 cells worth. Luckily a friend had 3 spare new one in his kit that i can swipe at short notice. Matt |

![]() | Re: Colkan Eagle This old fella had no dramas reaching back so I younger agile fella shouldn't either Hi Scuttle,Apart from picking on the likeness to the Bio, was there any problem/ short comings with that design that we could be enlightened on. ![]() I'm a complete novice on rebreathers and a mid 40's returned to diving, would appreciate some advice on educating myself about rebreathers. Perhaps you could assist as I'm in Geelong, thanks for your time. Greg |

Perhaps you could assist as I'm in Geelong, thanks for your time. Greg First off, let me welcome you to Rebreather World its a good place to pick up a lot of this info, new & old. Secondly congratulations on your decision to return to diving & thinking of the dark side. Anytime you want to have a chinwag, feel free to contact me 52613732 or drop in & I will give you a look over my rigs. Weekends are busy most times & if you turned up at the boat ramp around 7am , 10 or 1pm there is a good chance to talk to others & their brands of breathers as well. Pretty friendly bunch really & will talk your socks off given half a chance. I eagerly await the news reports as well caveseeker. If it turns out to be a dog of a breather, I bags we rename it (MCCR) Beagle & (ECCR)Buzzard

I have some notes about pricing, but not with me this second. I recall 6900ish AUD for the KISS version and 11,5kAUD for the electronic version. +/-300 on my memory thanks rick m ![]()
