Re: Picture of why rebreathers good, OC bad.

Looking at the out aluminium cylinder (on his right side) it looks like he has 3% O2, the one on the right is definately 5% O2.

I guess that isn't a dip in at Horsea Island then?

No- haven't you heard? Your sensors last longer if they are lower than your scrubber!

Seriously... thats got to breath like sh*t hasn't it?

I was just speculating- unless it was intentional won't it have folded up the hoses pretty badly and kinked all those hoses and electronics going into the head? As to where any moisture will run...

Obviously wasn't planning on any overhead enviroment

there are regs on the tank, just well run DINs......actually looks like the same gereral set up as the first picture from the back. If you look in the first pic right behind the OC guys head, you'll see the 5th cylinder.

Easy guess really, he used a chaepskate Inspo frame - that is the reason why the srubber got dislodged from it...

cheers

It must be the New 'Environmentally Green Cardboard' cases, which explains the floating parts....

I thought the first picture had one of the 3ltr Inspo cylinders loose as well as the Scrubber but it looks as though the diver has it fastened to the top of his case. The Scrubber may be a spare but for the life of me I can't figure out how it would be changed underwater... Habitat??

Re: Picture of why rebreathers good, OC bad.

I do love that floating scrubber!

The 2 photos are taken on different dives for sure - the configs are quite different - not only does the 1st shot only show one side slung per side vs the 2 per side on the 2nd shot, but also in the first shot, the quads are held together with stainless bands, and on the second they're cam-banded together.

I also like the way they're wearing freediving fins.

I think it's a photo of Mark Chase, after he realised how bad his SAC had got.
