Stuart,As i generally browse over "new posts" and don't use the search tool much. i'm unclear as to if there is a repository of salient threads or portions of threads that get archived for future reference and easy identifyication. fighting the "dillution" of valuable information seems to be quite a challenge, and I can see how being put in the position to have to make the call of what is valuable would be really dicey. Is there an effort to condense and compile the top rated threads, or even more specifically to rate individual posts for a sort of star rating search or something?...sorry i'm not being more clear, but i think you can get my drift.

| Waiting... ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Cell Linearity I dont think any one is going to convince anyone on this thread and it is wayyyyyy off topic - any mods fancy splitting it and trying to pop it into the Open Revolution forum some where. Quiet saturday night at work, I'm bored, so consider it done.I am just a bit concerned that we are diluting the informaiton in here as Alex pointed out earlier. It's here... http://www.rebreatherworld.com/open-...-mtbf-etc.html Stu, email me at work or PM me if I've missed any / moved too many posts etc... Cheers, CD

| So much more to learn ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Cell Linearity Just to keep the thread informed on the O2 Sensor Report promised. After reviewing the results in the draft report, one of the sensor companies has implemented some improvements to address several points we raised and we expect to receive a batch of the improved sensors next week. We will retest these before we publish the results. The test involved does not take long and will have the results within a few weeks further (most of this is shipping things here, then to Russia with their Customs). The test schedule we published contains the requirements we concluded for dive applications: it does require performance outside the range needed for medical purposes - rebreathers are a harsher environment than an operating theatre. There are two areas in particular, where companies addressing the dive market are working on: temperature range (Rebreather in tropics being pre-breathed produces a very warm exhaust from the scrubber onto the O2 sensors), and shock. The worst case real requirement for shock resistance comes from the use of RIBs to transport divers. We use a 1.5m and 3m drop test to simulate the effect of transporting a Rebreather on the floor of a RIB. There are two cases where this level of shock occurs, the first being around Scotland in this weather (in Scotland there is club diving in waves up to 3m: I know it sounds crazy if you are from somewhere else in the world, but the limit is 3m just because more than that it is too hard to find the diver's SMB - the RIB is driven very slowly), but surprisingly the second case is small waves at speed in a RIB which in fact produce similar levels of shock, so this environment is much more common than it first sounds. We are discussing improvements to the sensors so they can withstand shock better, and if we receive a batch with that improvement implemented, then it could be mid January before the report gets published onto this forum. The important news is that NDA issues are now overcome and it will be published. It is only fair that the data reflects the current products the companies are supplying the dive market with, at the date the report is published or close to it.
